Delivery zones and charges by distance
Set zones around your kitchen, give each one its own delivery charge and minimum order, and let Tezzu check every address against them. A customer outside your area is told politely before they order. Each zone can have a free-delivery threshold, so large orders ship free where you choose.
- Zones by distance from your kitchen, each with its own charge
- Minimum order value per zone
- Free delivery above a threshold you set per zone
- Addresses outside your zones are declined before the order
How it works
- 1
Set your zones
In the dashboard, define zones by distance from your outlet. Give each a delivery charge, a minimum order and, if you want, a free-delivery threshold.
- 2
Customer shares a location
On WhatsApp the customer shares a location or address; on the store page they enter one. Tezzu works out which zone it falls in.
- 3
Charge is applied automatically
The zone charge is added to the order summary before payment. If the cart crosses the free-delivery threshold for that zone, the charge drops to zero.
- 4
Out of zone, no order
If the address is outside every zone, the customer is told you do not deliver there yet. No awkward cancellation after the food is cooked.
Charges that match your costs
A 2 km delivery and an 8 km delivery do not cost you the same. Zones let you charge ₹20 nearby and ₹60 further out instead of one flat fee that loses money on far orders.
- Multiple zones, each with its own rules
- Different delivery charge per zone
- Minimum order value per zone
- Same rules on WhatsApp and the store page
Free delivery where it makes sense
Turn on a free-delivery threshold per zone. Nearby customers might get free delivery above ₹300; a far zone might need ₹600 or no free delivery at all.
- Threshold set per zone, off until you add one
- Charge drops to zero automatically above the threshold
- Different thresholds for near and far zones
- Change it any time from the dashboard
Pickup and scheduling alongside
Delivery is one option. Offer self-pickup points so customers outside your zones can still collect, and let customers schedule delivery for later.
- Self-pickup points with collection time
- Scheduled delivery and pre-orders
- Dine-in with QR tables for walk-ins
- Shiprocket for shipping packaged food beyond your zones
Who uses it
Charge fairly for far deliveries instead of absorbing rider costs on every order.
Keep the radius tight for hot food and widen it with a higher charge where demand exists.
Serve the areas your delivery routes cover and decline the rest automatically.
A small zone for delivery, pickup for everyone else.
Guides on delivery zones
Set delivery charges by pincode the way that works: map each area to a distance zone, price it from rider cost and add a free-delivery threshold per zone.

Frequently asked questions
How are delivery charges calculated?
By zone. You define zones by distance from your outlet and give each one a charge. When a customer shares a location or address, Tezzu finds the matching zone and adds that charge to the order total before payment. If the cart value crosses the free-delivery threshold you set for that zone, the charge becomes zero.
Can I set a minimum order value for delivery?
Yes, per zone. A nearby zone might accept orders from ₹150 while a far zone needs ₹400 to be worth the trip. Customers below the minimum are asked to add more before they can check out. You can change minimums any time, for example raising them during a rush.
What happens if a customer is outside my delivery area?
The bot tells them you do not deliver to that location yet, before any order is placed or paid. On the store page the same check runs when they enter an address. If you have pickup points enabled, the customer can switch to self-pickup and collect the order instead.
Does free delivery apply to every zone?
Only where you turn it on. The free-delivery threshold is set per zone and is off until you add one. That means you can offer free delivery above ₹300 within 3 km and keep charging for a 10 km zone, or skip free delivery entirely. Zones without a threshold keep their normal charge.
Do zones work with multiple outlets?
Yes. Each outlet has its own zones. When you run several outlets on one WhatsApp number, Tezzu routes the customer to the nearest outlet that serves their location and applies that outlet's zone charge, so a customer in Bandra and a customer in Powai each get the right kitchen and the right fee.
