How it is calculated
Own riders
Monthly cost is salaries plus other fixed costs, plus fuel for every delivery. Divided by deliveries a month (riders times working days times deliveries per rider per day) it gives the cost per delivery.
Delivery partner
The per-delivery fee plus an average for surge pricing, waiting charges and cancellations.
Break-even
The number of deliveries a month at which your own riders become cheaper per delivery than the partner. Below it, pay per delivery; above it, hire.
Frequently asked questions
How many deliveries can one rider do in a day?
In a dense city area with a 3 to 5 km radius, 20 to 30 deliveries a day is common across lunch and dinner. Spread-out suburbs or long radii pull that down quickly, which is why delivery zones matter.
What does a delivery partner charge per order?
On-demand partners price by distance, with a base fare for the first few kilometres and a per-kilometre rate after that, plus surge at peak times. Rates change by city, so take the figure from your own rate card.
Should I charge customers for delivery?
Most direct channels charge by distance zone and offer free delivery above a minimum order. That recovers part of the cost on small orders without putting off large ones. The delivery zones feature on Tezzu does this automatically.
