Before You Start
Setting up Tezzu takes about 30 minutes. Here's what you'll need ready:
- Your business name and description
- A logo image (square format works best)
- Your menu — item names, prices, and optionally images
- Your delivery area (which neighborhoods/pin codes you serve)
- Your operating hours
Step 1: Register as a Merchant
Visit the Tezzu merchant portal and create your account. You'll need:
- Your name and phone number (this will be verified via OTP)
- Email address
- Business name
Once verified, you'll be taken to your merchant dashboard — this is your control center for everything.
Step 2: Set Up Your Store Profile
In your dashboard, go to "My Shop" and fill in your business details:
- Business Name — This is what customers see on your store page
- Store Keyword — This becomes your store URL (tezzu.in/store/your-keyword). Keep it short and brandable.
- Description — A short paragraph about what you sell and what makes you special
- Logo & Banner — Upload your brand images
- Address — Your physical location (used for delivery distance calculations)
- Phone Number — Your WhatsApp number where customers can message you for orders
Step 3: Add Your Menu
This is the most important step. A good menu drives orders.
Create Categories
Start by creating categories to organize your items. For a restaurant, this might be: Starters, Main Course, Breads, Beverages, Desserts. For a grocery store: Fruits, Vegetables, Dairy, Snacks.
Add Items to Each Category
For each item, you can set:
- Name and description — Be clear and appetizing
- Price — Your selling price
- Images — Items with photos get 3x more orders
- Variants — Different sizes (Small, Medium, Large) or options
- Add-ons — Extra toppings, sides, or upgrades
- Veg/Non-veg indicator — Important for Indian customers
- Availability — Toggle items on/off without deleting them
Pro Tips for Your Menu
- Add photos to at least your top 10 items
- Keep descriptions short — 1-2 lines maximum
- Price competitively, especially for your most popular items
- Create a "Bestsellers" or "Recommended" category at the top
Step 4: Configure Your Delivery Zone
In the delivery settings, define where you deliver:
- Delivery radius — Set how far you'll deliver (e.g., 3 km, 5 km)
- Delivery charges — Free delivery, flat fee, or distance-based
- Minimum order amount — Set a minimum to ensure deliveries are profitable
Start with a smaller radius and expand as you build your delivery capacity. It's better to deliver fast in a small area than slow over a large one.
Step 5: Set Your Operating Hours
Configure when your store is open for orders. You can set different hours for different days. When you're outside operating hours, your store page automatically shows "Closed" and customers can't place orders.
Step 6: Go Live
Once your profile, menu, delivery zone, and hours are set, your store is live:
- Your store page is active — Customers can visit tezzu.in/store/your-keyword and order
- Your WhatsApp is ready — Customers can message your WhatsApp number to browse your menu and place orders
Step 7: Share Your Store and Start Getting Orders
Don't wait for customers to find you — promote your store:
- Share your store link on your WhatsApp Status
- Post it on your Instagram and Facebook pages
- Print QR codes for your physical store, packaging, and bills
- Tell your existing customers: "Now you can order online!"
Managing Orders from Your Dashboard
When orders start coming in:
- You'll see them in your live dashboard
- Accept or reject each order
- Mark orders as "Preparing" → "Ready" → "Out for Delivery" → "Delivered"
- Customer gets status updates on WhatsApp automatically
The dashboard shows your daily revenue, order count, popular items, and more. Use this data to optimize your menu and operations.
You're Ready
That's it — you now have your own online store page and accept orders on your own WhatsApp number. The setup is a one-time effort. From here, it's all about taking orders, delighting customers, and growing your business.
